Reverion Secures USD 41 Million in Carbon Removal Deals to Scale Biogas-Based CCS Technology

German clean-tech company Reverion has secured a USD 41 million offtake deal via Frontier to remove 96,000 tons of CO2 between 2027 and 2030 using an innovative biogas-to-power system. Reverion’s solid oxide fuel cells convert biogas from waste into electricity while capturing carbon from both methane and CO2, significantly increasing carbon removal compared with conventional combined heat and power plants. This approach eliminates harmful methane emissions and achieves record-high biogas-to-electricity efficiency, enabling decentralized clean power directly at biogas sites. By permanently storing the captured CO2 the technology offers a scalable, near-term carbon removal pathway; if deployed globally, expanded biogas production and capture could remove over 2 gigatons of CO2 annually
