Nala Earth, a Berlin-based Nature Tech startup founded in 2023 by Nick Zumbühl, Nicolas Somogyi, and Anna Alex, has raised €3.8 million in seed funding. The round, announced on January 30, 2025, was led by European venture capital firm IRIS, with participation from KOMPAS VC and existing investors Pale blue dot and Founderful . The platform addresses egulatory demands, such as the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which mandates environmental disclosures for large companies since 2024 and will extend to over 50,000 businesses by 2028. Nala Earth aligns assessments with frameworks like the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and Science Based Targets Network (SBTN), reducing reporting times from months to days . It equips firms to manage risks from nature loss, including water scarcity and ecosystem degradation, which underpin over $44 trillion of global GDP according to the 2020 New Nature Economy Report .
