Volcafe has entered into a strategic partnership with the Rainforest Alliance to support the development and implementation of the organisation’s new Regenerative Agriculture-certified coffee standard. The collaboration focuses on validating and scaling regenerative farming practices in coffee supply chains to enhance climate resilience, soil health and biodiversity, while maintaining productivity for coffee farmers.
Within this framework, Volcafe will work with producers in key origins to pilot and supply coffees that meet the new regenerative criteria, drawing on its long-standing field presence and its Volcafe Way farmer support programme. The Rainforest Alliance’s new certification solution aims to provide a science-based benchmark for regenerative agriculture in coffee, enabling companies to trace and credibly communicate environmental improvements in their value chains.
The partnership builds on more than two decades of cooperation between Volcafe and the Rainforest Alliance across certification, responsible sourcing and farmer training initiatives. For roasters, retailers and institutional buyers, the initiative offers access to coffee that aligns with emerging expectations on climate action, nature protection and sustainable livelihoods, supported by third-party assurance and performance data.
